Beit Cambridge Scholarship for Zimbabwean Students

Beit Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters applicants normally resident in Zambia, Zimbabwe or Malawi in any subject. It is tenable at any College. The scholarship is offered in partnership with The Beit Trust.

The Beit Trust was founded in 1906 following the Will of Alfred Beit, a financier and philanthropist. Each year, the Trust awards up to twenty Beit Scholarships, which are funded in partnership with universities such as Cambridge.

These scholarships are specifically for citizens of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi who are permanent residents of their respective countries. Only nationals from these countries are eligible to apply. Before applying to the Beit Trust, applicants must have a conditional offer from Cambridge.

Every year, two Beit-Cambridge Scholarships are available, and the selection process is highly competitive. Applicants must hold at least an Upper Second undergraduate degree (2:1) in a subject that benefits their home country’s development. It’s strongly recommended that applicants gain work experience in a relevant field between their undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The Trust also values evidence of leadership potential in applicants’ chosen areas of specialization.

  1. check with The Beit Trust the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly; AND
  2. apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory)
