TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program 2024 is open to international applicants who are citizens of selected countries and are not nationals of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student. The deadline for application is March 15, 2024.

Taiwan gives scholarships for college, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees. They work with top universities in Taiwan. They formed a group called Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA) with 21 universities to manage and improve the scholarship program.

The TaiwanICDF Scholarship Program originally focused on training agricultural professionals. Over time, it expanded to include other research areas, broadening the scholarship opportunities. Currently, the program collaborates with 21 universities, offering 35 different study programs.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • As part of the TaiwanICDF Scholarship Program, you will receive economy class return tickets for direct flights to and from Taiwan arranged by the TaiwanICDF.
  • During your entire study duration, you will be provided accommodation in student dormitories.
  • Your tuition fees at your chosen university will be covered by the TaiwanICDF.
  • Additionally, credit fees, which depend on the number of credits you register for, will also be covered according to your university’s requirements.
  • Insurance fees for the entire duration of your program will be covered.
  • Textbook costs, subject to approval by the director of your institute, will also be covered.
  • For undergraduate students, a monthly stipend of NT$12,000 will be provided to cover food and other living expenses.
  • Master’s students will receive a monthly stipend of NT$15,000, deposited into a local bank account monthly, to cover living expenses.
  • PhD students will receive a monthly stipend of NT$17,000 for food and miscellaneous living expenses.

TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program 2024 Requirements:

  • You must be a citizen/ national of an eligible country for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship (Please see the full list here)
  • National of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or overseas compatriot students are not eligible for the scholarships.
  • You must meet the admission requirements set by the partner university to which you choose to apply for study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  • Applicants must be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa to study and reside in Taiwan
  • You must not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship including the Taiwan Scholarship in the same academic year in which the TaiwanICDF scholarship was at the time of application.
  • Applicants must not have had any scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or related institution, nor been expelled from any Taiwanese university.

Required Documents:

To apply, you need to provide:

  1. A copy of your passport or a document proving your nationality.
  2. Copies of your highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.
  3. An English proficiency certificate to show your English skills.
  4. Two letters of reference from people who can support your application.
  5. Any other documents requested by the Taiwan Embassy, Consulate General, or Representative Office.

Application Process:

  • People who want a scholarship need to send their papers to the Taiwan Embassy, Consulate General, or Representative Office in their own country.
  • You have to make sure you give all the right papers between December 1st and March 15th, 2024.
  • Apart from those papers, you also need to give any other papers the university in Taiwan wants before their deadline.
