WomEng Southern Africa Fellowship Programme 2024 is a special online learning program. It gives Fellows helpful resources to do well in the future job world. The program includes regular online chats on WhatsApp and live virtual classes. The deadline is August 7, 2024.

The program will take place in four modules from September 2023 to March 2024. At the end of each module, participants need to complete an assignment and receive feedback. The modules involve tasks like thinking, discussing, writing, and reflecting. The program aims to help young women in engineering and technology become confident leaders in the workforce.

The four modules are:

Module 1:

Leadership – Sharing Your Own Story

Module 2:

Innovation – Building Skills for the Future Job Market

Module 3:

Well-being – Learning to Relax and Take Care of Yourself

Module 4:

Employability – Excelling in the Workplace

Participants who actively take part will be invited to networking events with leaders from De Beers Group and Zutari, as well as Southern Africa Fellowship Alumni from 2019 to 2024, representing Botswana, Namibia, or South Africa.

WomEng Southern Africa Fellowship Programme 2024 Requirements:

  1. Applications are open to all engineering, technology and built environment students who identify as women.
  2. Applicants must be studying full-time at a university or university of technology in South Africa, Botswana or Namibia. Applicants who are not citizens of South Africa, Namibia or Botswana are eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants must be in the second last to final year of undergraduate studies or full-time postgraduate studies i.e. entering the workplace in 2023 or 2024.
  4. Applicants must be able to commit between 7-9 hours each month between September 2023 – March 2024 to participate in the programme. The programme is designed to take into consideration COVID-19 restrictions and foreseen academic workloads.
  5. WomEng Fellowship alumni are not eligible to apply.

South Africa, Namibia, or Botswana
